Dome Resort ★★★

Absolutely no reception. taxi driver called cleaning lady who called another person who then told me to give cleaning lady my passports to be photographed and full payment in cash. Booking.com description the most inaccurate I have ever seen. Bungalows in a tropical garden are derelict.

This resort was really good. Everything is great: a clean and beautiful swimming pool, a delicious breakfast, a location close to Kata beach. Also, when I opened my door, I could see the streets of Kata, which made me feel crowded and excited. The best thing about Dome Resort was that Nai was a manager. Nai was the kindest person I've ever met in Thailand. He fixed the smelly refrigerator right away and greeted me brightly whenever I came and went. I stayed here for four days with my boyfriend, and felt like staying at a clean and comfortable friend's house. If I come to Phuket again next time, I want to stay here again. Thank you Nai.

Nai, the receptionist is without doubt the most attentive, totally focussed person we have met on a holiday in 40 years of travel. He is a gem, welcoming, always smiling, any issues instantly dealt with. A joy to be around, nothing is too much trouble. Room, deluxe is very large, great beds , exceptionally clean, safe, toilet and shower combined but not a problem. Fresh towels daily with free water.A/C works well... although the room overlooked the street , not overly noisy. Breakfast in a seperate section 50m away ... freshly cooked, large in portion and superb quality. Large pool within a small garden, very good. Cannot fault the hotel based on it in my opinion being a 2 star rating. 5 mins from Kata beach or 15mins from Karon beach, preferred.

Minor issues with the sink plumbing and the poor TV.... forget any English channels.

Excellent location. Good market accross the street and very close to Kata beach. Air con worked well. Nice pool.

Needed to change the sheets when we checked in. They were stained yellow on both beds. Our friends bed had lizard poop inside the sheets. Our toilet flushed very inconsistently for our entire stay. Management would not rebate any money for our friends given Their terrible check in. Day clerk was useless but liked watching Netflix. Door lock could be opened by a child. Large gaps in the door would easily allow critters and lizards in. Never did meet a manager, just talked to her over the phone. Evening clerk and evening housekeeper were good.

Before we even get into the room, a huge shoutout goes to Nai! This guy was a bright spot not only at this location but, for the entire trip. Nai ensures all of us were well taken care of and happy at all times. When we would leave the room for the day he would wave to us and come shake our hands. The same would happen when we would arrive back to the room. Nai constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything, if it was too loud, he even racked our game of pool for us every single game. The room is spacious, the showers were hot, a full sized fridge in the room was great for stocking up on snacks and drinks, and the blackout curtain ensured the room stayed dark until you were ready to start your day. The pool was perfect and clean. I even looked into the cost to stay for a full month because I enjoyed the place so much. Perfect location for restaurants, shops, markets, and only a short 5 minute walk to the beach. White Bamboo had really good breakfast next door and Red Snapper had amazing sushi, also next door.

Though this is outside the control of Dome Resort, a large resort just broke ground next door so I can only assume construction will be going on there for another 6 months or so. Loud construction and whistles in the AM were the only disturbance to our stay.
